We are excited to announce our first ever Dog Camp. This camp has been in planning stages for several years, but we have finally landed on a time and date. What is it? Five days of everything dog. We have invited trainers from diverse training backgrounds to teach us what they know best. A true camp experience, we invite you to bring an RV and stay for the duration. We will provide lunch and dinner, great education, fun games, and wonderful companionship with like minded people. We will end each evening with story time. And you will have plenty of time during the week to chat with each other and our invited dog trainers. Where? TBD (Sonoita area) waiting for a go ahead from the Az Land Department; or the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds, or a private field. When: April 17-21, 2024 Who? We have commitments from five trainers, including Maggie Sauer from Reno, NV. Xena Carpenter, Tucson AZ, Suzanne Brown, Whetstone AZ, Dani Girlinghouse, Sierra Vista, AZ. Classes: So far we will have classes on engagement, concepts (right/left, or bigger smaller), Do as I Do (mimicry), Search and Rescue Training, freestyle disc, scent work, and more. You won't miss a thing! You can bring a dog (or not) to each class. We have hikes, and downtime built in as well, to help you process what you have learned. We will have two package options available, because while we wish everyone could come for the full five days, we know that some will not be able to do so. We will have the full camp, and a two-day option. We will also have materials for you to make and take home, including a first aid kit (and instructions on how to use it from a veterinary professional!), Platforms for platform training sized for your dog, a starter kit for scent work, and more. * All class subjects are subject to change. At this point, all spots will be working spots, with a maximum of 12. Five-day Passes will have precedence on open slots Prices: $600 for the 5 day option, or $300 for the two day option. The two day option will be available beginning February 15 and will be determined by unsold five day slots. We are asking for a $100 deposit to hold your five day slots.
