Real World Obedience
Test your dog's skills in a real working ranch environment
Service Description
This Summer Special three week class will challenge your dog's ability to focus, come when called, and work in a highly distracting environment. We will work in our arena on behaviors your dog already knows. We'll work real-life scenarios seen when hiking, playing disc in the park, and trialling. Sheep poop on the ground, sheep, chickens and geese, amazing smells, other dogs and people. This is a challenging environment. But it's also the real world filled with bunnies, neighbor cats, kids playing soccer and the like. We will discuss how to succeed in the face of distractions. We will ensure your dog succeeds even when other dogs fail. We'll work on recalls off of actual living animals (safely!). This is a class for dogs who have already experienced training in the real world (we will offer a similar class later in the summer for beginner dogs). This is a perfect class for dogs expected to perform off-leash, hike, and travel. Dogs who need to work in a public space, and dogs that have high prey drive around wild life. This is a Summer Special 3 week class. It will be held at my ranch (directions will be sent - a high clearance vehicle is recommended. Due to parking class size will be limited) - For an idea of travel time, add 10 minutes to your GPS directions to Charron Vineyards in Vail. Class time will be 8 am. We are cooler here than the valley. Wear sturdy shoes. June 3-June 17 - Wednesday mornings . Cost is $120
