Service Description
Do you want to discover how incredible your dog's nose is? do you want to find antlers in the wild, or look for missing pet dogs or people? Do you want to give your dog a fulfilling outlet, or compete in tracking? In this class we will introduce the scent article of your choice (antler, Sweet Birch for Competition, footsteps for footstep tracking, etc...) And walk you step by step how to introduce the scent, how to ensure that your dog recognizes the scent, teach your dog how and where to look for the scent, and establish a training plan to maximize your dogs skills. We will introduce retrieve for scent articles, or barking, sitting or lying down as indications of having found the scent article. No matter what job you want to with their nose, or if you want to compete or look into scent work as a hobby, this class will lay a strong foundation for you and your dog. This class is one hour long, and class size is limited. All participants must sign up in advance. You may pay via credit card through the website or wait to pay with cash or check on the first day of class - we cannot take credit cards in person. (We can provide scent articles for those who are just looking to enjoy scent work without specific goals in mind) - If you have a specific goal in mind, please bring your own articles (antlers, sweet birch, whatever) Class will run for five weeks beginning Tuesday Oct 3rd at 6 pm - 3669 E 44th St (we will likely head to a nearby park for several classes, depending on what people are needing, and how our dogs are progressing)
